University of Alabama
The University of Alabama which is also known as UA is a public research university situated in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The university was established on 18 December 1820. The date makes it the oldest and largest public university in Alabama.
It is a doctoral-level Institution, which is made with the aim to advance the intellectual and social condition of the people of the Alabama state by providing them quality programs of teaching, research, and service.
The inaugural ceremony of the university was held on April 12, 1831. The first enrollment application received by the university was on April 18, 1831.
On may 28, 1831, more than 50 students got enrolled in this institution.
In 1838, the university becomes the first in the state for offering the engineering studies to the students.
In 1860, the university becomes a military school. The cadets graduated from the school also went to serve as an officer in the Confederate army during the civil war.
